Japanese Roasted Twig Tea Kukicha – a.k.a. “twig tea” – is a traditional Japanese tea variety made from the stems and stalks of the tea shrub, the same plant that produces green and black (Camellia sinensis). After the twigs are pruned from the shrub, they are steamed and dried, then aged and gently roasted. How does it taste? Pleasantly rich, nutty and roasted; far less astringent than green tea. Serve with lemon, if desired.
Suggested Use & Directions

For maximum benefit, medicinal tea must be properly prepared. Pour 8 oz. freshly boiled water over a tea bag in a cup. Cover cup and steep 10-15 minutes. These steps directly influence the amount of beneficial components that will end up in your teacup! Gently squeeze the tea bag to release any remaining extract. Drink 3 or more cups daily. For an extra strength brew, use 2 teabags or brew up a whole pot using 4 or 5 teabags.
